Frequently Asked Questions

AmeriHealth Caritas: AmeriHealth Caritas has forced Regional Gastroenterology Associates of Lancaster (RGAL), which includes USDH’s affiliated practices, out of network as of January 1, 2021.

This means that patients with AmeriHealth Caritas Medical Assistance health plans may no longer have access to their doctor and our facilities. We asked AmeriHealth Caritas to reconsider its decision, but they were unwilling to work with us in a meaningful way.

IBC: USDH and its affiliated practices have reached a new agreement with IBC, maintaining our in-network status for patients with IBC employer-sponsored, Exchange, and Medicare Advantage health insurance plans. We also reached an agreement with IBC-affiliated company Keystone First that covers the care we provide patients with Keystone First Medical Assistance (Medicaid) health insurance plans. Patients with IBC health plans and Keystone First Medical Assistance health plans should continue to visit their doctor and USDH-affiliated facilities as they normally would.

AmeriHealth Caritas: The agreement between AmeriHealth Caritas and USDH ended on December 31, 2020. Unfortunately, AmeriHealth Caritas has removed Regional Gastroenterology Associates of Lancaster (RGAL), which includes USDH’s affiliated practices, out of network as of January 1, 2021.

IBC: USDH and IBC have resolved negotiations and reached a new agreement that protects patients with IBC health plans’ in-network access to USDH doctors and facilities. Patients with IBC health plans should continue to visit their doctor and USDH-affiliated facilities as they normally would.

Only AmeriHealth Caritas Medical Assistance (Medicaid) managed care plans are affected due to AmeriHealth Caritas forcing USDH and its affiliated practices out of network.

The following USDH-affiliated practice facilities and doctors are impacted by our out of network status with AmeriHealth Caritas:

  • Main Line Gastroenterology Associates (MLGA)
  • Digestive Disease Associates (DDA)
  • Regional GI (RGI)
  • Carlisle Digestive Disease Associates (CDDA)
  • USDH at Royersford
  • West Chester GI (WCGI)

Yes. All MLGA, DDA, RGI, CCDA, USDH at Royersford, and WCGI doctors are impacted by the out of network status with AmeriHealth Caritas.

Patients with AmeriHealth Caritas Medical Assistance health plans:

As of February 2, 2021, USDH and its affiliated practices can no longer see patients with AmeriHealth Caritas Medical Assistance (Medicaid) with the exception of patients requiring necessary clinical care with appointments scheduled before February 28.
